The Mazingira Safi, Mtoto Salama (MSMS) Program is an initiative by Blessing Foundation aimed at improving the wellbeing, safety, health, and living conditions of orphaned and vulnerable children through the promotion of clean, safe, and child-friendly environments. The program focuses on supporting orphanages and centers caring for children from vulnerable backgrounds in the regions of Mbeya and Songwe.
Aligned with Blessing Foundation’s vision of building dignified communities with equal rights and environmental sustainability for present and future generations, the MSMS Program integrates child protection, hygiene and sanitation, environmental conservation, health support, and community empowerment. The program recognizes that children thrive best in environments that are safe, healthy, inclusive, and environmentally sustainable.
Through this program, Blessing Foundation works closely with caregivers, community groups, local authorities, and development partners to strengthen sanitation systems, provide hygiene and health support materials, improve child protection practices, and build the capacity of caregivers on child wellbeing, nutrition, and health management. The program also promotes environmental stewardship through waste management initiatives, environmental awareness, and climate-smart practices that contribute to healthier communities.
MSMS seeks not only to address immediate needs within child care centers but also to create long-term sustainable impact by empowering communities to actively participate in promoting safe environments, protecting children’s rights, and supporting resilient and self-reliant communities. Through collaboration and inclusive participation, the program contributes to healthier, safer, and more sustainable futures for vulnerable children and the communities around them.
